Additionally, the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 causes some problems (namely huge slowdowns), which can be fixed only by placing a pre-Anniversary Update "d3d9.dll" into the game directory (or, if there's already a file named "d3d9.dll" there because of the subtitle mod, then under the name "d3d9_alt.dll"). You probably should not go as far as to switch your system locale to Japanese, because you will experience issues with other stuff.
